Sharing & Caring Hands Receive Over 2500 Blankets From Minnesota Dry Cleaners
State dry cleaners increased last year’s blanket drive donations by
over 65%
During the months of September and October, Minnesotans donated over 2500
lightly used blankets to local participating dry cleaners as part of the Minnesota Cleaners Association Blanket Drive. Dry
cleaners cleaned the blankets for no charge and delivered them through November 20th to Sharing and caring hands in Minneapolis,
which is an assistance center for inner-city poor that serves 20,000 clients each month.
"These blankets will be put to immediate use, to the homeless, people living in poverty
and to the children at Mary’s Place. Everyone here is very grateful to all those who have donated their blankets." said
Founder & Director of Sharing & Caring Hands Mary Jo Copeland.
The Minnesota Cleaners Association began this campaign four years ago with an increase
of blanket donations each year to Sharing and Caring Hands. "The goal of this year’s blanket drive was again to increase
last year’s donations by extending the campaign through the month of October. We were thrilled with the generosity of
all who have supported this blanket drive," said Minnesota Cleaners Association Executive Director Amber Bullock.
The Minnesota Cleaners Association represents more than 100 dry cleaners in the state and is an affiliate of the International Fabricare Institute.
